The tour relates how a real call to action launched by the Touring Club in 1898 to its members has resulted, over the years and in increasingly structured and diversified ways, in a photographic illustration of Italy and the world without precedent: amateur members, together with professional photographers, have contributed to create a photographic collection that today consists of 350,000 prints from the late nineteenth century to 1970. An archive of images created through exchange and sharing, 112 years before Instagram.
